Rashid Khan returns to Afghanistan after four years

Leg-spinner has nable to visit the country in recent years due to his hectic schedule

This morning, he arrived in Kabul after participating in the IPL 2024 for the Gujarat Titans. He was cordially greeted at Kabul International Airport by the Chairman of the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) and several players.

It is planned that he will travel to the West Indies in the coming days for the venue of the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup matches. This follows Rashid Khan concluding his tenure with the Gujarat team and returning to his homeland.

On Thursday, May 16th, the Afghanistan national cricket team set off for the West Indies to compete in the ICC T20 World Cup.

Their first official match is scheduled against Uganda on June 3rd, followed by matches against New Zealand, Namibia, and the West Indies.

It’s worth noting that the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup will involve 20 countries vying against each other in four groups.

Rashid Khan stands as one of the world’s most successful cricket players, holding the top position among bowlers in the T20 Cricket World Cup.

Born in 1998 in Nangarhar province, situated in eastern Afghanistan, he earned himself the title of the youngest professional cricket player in the world, as recognized by the Guinness World Records
